Camelot Wheel

The Camelot Wheel assigns each major and minor key an alphanumeric code (e.g. 8B, 5A) – ideal for harmonic mixing.

What does that mean in detail?

The Camelot Wheel was developed by Mark Davis and is now standard in DJ software like Mixed In Key. Each key gets a number (1–12) and a letter (A for minor, B for major). Keys adjacent on the wheel sound harmonic together, which DJs use for seamless mixes.

How does this relate to giganizr?

Songs in giganizr can carry a Camelot ID. The setlist can then be exported as Camelot XML – compatible with most DJ tools.
