XRechnung is the standardized XML format for electronic invoices to public buyers in Germany.
XRechnung was developed by KoSIT (Coordinating Body for IT Standards) and is based on the European norm EN 16931. It uses UBL 2.1 (Universal Business Language) and is mandatory for most government invoices since 2020. The current version 3.0 carries CustomizationID urn:cen.eu:en16931:2017#compliant#urn:xeinkauf.de:kosit:xrechnung_3.0 and supports the Peppol BIS Billing profile.
