ZUGFeRD

ZUGFeRD is a hybrid invoice format combining PDF/A-3 with embedded XML – machine-readable and human-readable.

What does that mean in detail?

ZUGFeRD (Central User Guide of the German Forum for Electronic Invoicing) combines a visually readable PDF/A-3 with an embedded XML file following EN 16931. The current version 2.3 provides several profiles (e.g. EN16931, EXTENDED). Unlike a pure XRechnung, ZUGFeRD can also be opened directly by humans – ideal for business customers workflows.

How does this relate to giganizr?

giganizr creates ZUGFeRD 2.3 documents from any invoice in one click – the XML is embedded automatically and validated against EN 16931.
